Alright, designers, some feedback:
Generally – prefer the All-Caps versions. Also – Armada is meant to invoke a group of sailing ships (think fleet), vs a motorboat.
45: I like this one for the play on almost a sail shape / A for the logo. Could I see a few variations? It’s good, but not quite there. Don’t know what’s missing.
37: I like the stylized sail for the A, but the rest of it doesn’t hold together very well.
36: The A in the box needs some work, but I like the concept and stylization. I like that it has the standalone icon that would be recognizable.
35: Nice, simple and understated. Might be a little too vertical, but certainly usable. Could it be rearranged/tweaked into a more standard rectangular pattern? I like the white center (makes me think of a sail). All caps version too, maybe with the 1st & last A taller to frame the icon?
30: Has a dynamic feel to it. Gives the impression of moving, which can be a good thing. It's a little more casual in its effect. I like the Armada portion shown in 31 – could the two be integrated?
24: I like this except for the boat in it. It's a more of a "typical" simple logo.
9: Close, but something’s not quite right. I like the icon, but the text font doesn’t work.

Keep em coming folks! If you have questions, post em! I’ll continue to check regularly.

Dilip - unfortunately, that falls into the 'cartoony' characters aspect.

Priyankar -

1) Generally, browns, blues, and greens are what we're thinking - no pastels/neon is what I was going for. Some color is definitely desired, so pure graytone won't work.

2) An icon isn't required or prohibited - what we are looking for is something that will stand out. Who knows - the M in Armada as boats, very open to ideas.

3) We have not identified a specific font; generally gov't systems prefer sans serifs though. However, the logo as an image won't have this concern.

You can tell me your preferred colors for the #1 Entry ...

Before I begin with the design I have a few questions regarding the brief.

1. You have mentioned that you do not want bright garish colours. Point taken. But could you mention what colours you prefer? Gray? Tones of black maybe?

2. Are you looking for any iconic part to your logo as well? Companies like General Dynamics and Booz Allen Hamilton does not have them.

3. Any particular choice of fonts you have?

Thanks.
