Some weeks back our client David Kavanagh sent us an email and asked if it is possible to post a logo design contest and not let one designer see others’ submissions. Well it is when the idea of “secret ballot” came to our mind. We thought that the idea was pretty good as secret ballot will make every designer think creatively and not get influenced or inspired by other designer’s designs.

We went back to our drawing board and started designing what we call secret ballot for contest holders or buyers. They can now post a logo design contest or a webpage design contest and not let one designer see the submissions of other designers.

In a secret ballot the contests are locked. Every designer can just see his or her own submission only but the contest holder or buyer can see the designs submitted by all designers and rate them accordingly.

The message board however has been kept open to all since the buyer or contest holder might need to send a message to everyone. If they contest holder needs to ask some question to a specific designer then he always has the option to send him or her a private message.

Its been a while that we at Shopfordesigns have been maintaining a low profile. This is for a reason. We felt that there are some features that needed to be changed and revamped. So we went back to the drawing board and built up some features which would help freelance designers as well as outsourcers get their job done in a more efficient way. Now that all the jobs are prepaid on the site, designers dont have to worry about getting paid. Also we are coming out with a new affiliate system on relaunch which will enable people with good contacts make good money from the projects posted here on SFD. Its a win win situation for everyone. If some graphic designer have huge work load which he can not handle himself he can outsource via the affiliate system and can earn a reward.
